The British Medical Association (BMA) has cancelled a scheduled lecture on Gaza by Dr. Ang Swee Chai, co-founder of Medical Aid for Palestine.
She was due to address students at the annual Medical Students' Conference, but the BMA has not provided a reason for the cancellation.
The decision has sparked protests in London, with demonstrators condemning the move as silencing medical voices on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Dr Morgan McMonagle, trauma and vascular surgeon who had worked at Nasser Hospital in Gaza, recounts his experiences treating injured children and families when Israel first violated the ceasefire on 18 March, during which they spent “the first 20 minutes pronouncing people dead, of which most of them were children”.
Dr McMonagle said the mortuary was at capacity with bodies and body parts lying on the floor that will “never be claimed”.
