@beforewisdom @brewsterkahle There's a worrying lack of care being shown by governments and nations around archiving of digital data in general.
I wouldn't trust books to that unless that problem is resolved, and even then.
It's not like it's impossible, the technology not only exists but is (or soon is) out of patent time (#HyperCDROM, petabyte glass CDs), so there's no excuse not to implement it and have multiple redundant facilities across a given nation storing them and equipment for them.
@Seirdy I want Hyper CD-ROM to become the reality I was promised.
