TanjaI finished the pair of Mittens I started last Tuesday. I'm a tad disappointed by the yarn; the colour started out super vibrant and became muted throughout the same skein. TanjaThe details in that beauty are great, I love all the structure. Lots of bobble stitches in variations. (.... though not as many as in my current WIP) I remember I made this shawl for a MAL over on Ravelry (Make-Along) with the topic Earth and my inspiration was Sedona. The pattern itself was also a CAL (Crochet Along) by the Designers, but I made it later. In any case - I love the composition of this pattern. Bonus - the yarn is from a small yarnwinder in my country. TanjaThe pattern for this beauty is called "Dandelion Lane" and the yarn I used reminded me of a Dandelion growing out of a street. Amazing little resilient plants! Also - the shawl has Glitter. Most things are better with Glitter. TanjaOh, I almost forgot about this beauty! I used 2 Yarncakes and alternated them; I ended up using about 1824 m yarn. It's a pattern by a polish designer, essentially it's just charts and I was so proud that I managed to make it. Being able to read crochet charts opens up a whole new world beyond language barriers. TanjaI told you I temporarily became a mad hatter when I discovered making my own strawhats. :D Here I used a chiffon cloth as a hatband - it's actually a juggling cloth usually used by kids to learn juggling. :-) This hat was claimed by my aunt for gardening, and I'm glad it has a good home with her. What is interesting here is that I used a slightly different paper yarn. Most Raffia will be broad and flat, but some are rolled and round and more yarn-like. See second picture for a direct comparison. This will in the end have an impact on your gauge and the size of your project, so it's a good thing to know.
